Some what noob poker question.?

I was playing on Full Tilt poker with play money, and I entered a 250 chip buy in game. Now, all I spent of my play money was that 250 chips. I was given an extra 1500 at the table to use in the tourney.
Now my question is, if I am playing with real money, and I enter a "freeroll"/ [small amount] "buy in" game, will they give me the starting money to play with? Or will I have to use my own?

If you are playing a tournament or SNG (sit n go), whether freeroll or small buy in you will always start with a set amount of chips. Most online sites start you with 1500 chips. Once your chips are gone you are out of the game.

If you are playing cash games (aka ring games) then each hand you play will be funded from your own money.

Lately I almost exclusively play tournaments as I get more bang for my buck this way, and the payouts can be much, much more lucrative. All it takes is a little patience and discipline to not play junk cards. Play smart and you can have a lot of fun without breaking the bank!

i guess i dont understand what youre asking... you pay $2 or whatever the cost is of the tournament and in return theyll give you the standard amount of chips everyone in that tournament gets (usually ranges between 500-3000 on most sites, sounds like at full tilt it is 1500). then at the end of the tourney they pay you out (if you finish high enough in the rankings) based on your place

when ever u buy in a tourney online they always start u off with $1500. the only time u start of with what u buy in with is when u enter a ring game.
